To spring, we welcome one of the world’s most acclaimed dramatic sopranos – Nina Stemme. With her unique voice, deep musicality and scenic presence, she has conjured audiences on the world’s premier opera scenes, from Bayreuth and Salzburg to Metropolitan in New York and La Scala in Milan.
Nina Stemme is particularly famous for her interpretations of Wagner and Strauss, where she is highlighted as one of the greatest interpreters of roles of our time such as Isolde, Brünnhilde and Elektra. Her powerful yet nuanced song touches the innermost, and she has been praised with, among other things, the prestigious Birgit Nilsson Prize and named a court singer.
The concert is led by internationally active Swedish conductor Patrik Ringborg. He is an internationally sought Swedish conductor with broad opera repertoire and experience from Europe’s foremost scenes. He has been General Music Director in Kassel, worked with all major Swedish orchestras and has been praised with the Swedish Dagbladet Opera Prize and Litteris et Artibus.
Among other things, we will hear a premiere of the Swedish composer Fredrik Hedelin, Orkestersånger.
