Märgit, den rikaste kvinnan i Hässjö o Tynderö socken
- Sunday 7 June
- 14.00 - 16.30
- Åstöns naturreservat, Unnamed Road, 861 94 Söråker, Sweden
A performance presented by Visionsteatern with acting, storytelling, singing and music performed by the Madrigal Choir.
Performed in two acts with a longer intermission for something substantial to eat and coffee with cake.
In collaboration with Skeppshamns Café.
Märgit lived in Tynderö/Skilsåker during the 1500s. Fishing made her the richest woman, above farmers and other fishermen.
You will follow her and her family through all the centuries and up to the present day. The development of fishing follows all time periods.
Priests, kings and the authorities used their power for legislated decisions and taxes. Meanwhile poor fishermen and servants lived in frustration.
The performance concludes with questions about the fish and fishing today. What future awaits our children and grandchildren, will there be natural fish available.
