Swimming spots: Beautiful lakes

Sundsvall, Timrå and Ånge have many lovely lakes and ponds to cool off in. Here are some tips on beaches that are particularly suitable for the very youngest bathers and their families.

Dyket, Kvissleby

The Dyket facility at Lake Dövikssjön offers more than just swimming. The lake bath has a large and a small jetty and a barrier for the very youngest. A ramp that goes all the way out into the water increases accessibility. Various ball fields, a playground and large grass areas contribute to Dykets status as a family favorite. Pallviken, Matfors

Pallviken in Lake Marmen, located after the river Ljungan, is suitable for the whole family - and especially good for the very youngest. There are both grassy areas and a sandy beach, shallow swimming and a jetty. Dogs are welcome to their own section of the beach, which offers children some extra entertainment.

Segersjön, Selånger

Segersjön is a somewhat hidden gem with several smaller sandy beaches, grassy areas and a jetty. There is also a dog bath here. The lake is shallow with a gravel bottom and popular with families with children. Adjacent to the small campsite is an ice cream kiosk. Turn off road 86 at the sign and continue about seven kilometers in to reach this oasis.

Vojen, Ånge

Vojen is centrally located in Ånge and has become a popular meeting place for both swimmers and fitness enthusiasts doing sweaty workouts. The sheltered bay makes the water warmer than elsewhere in the lake. A fine sandy beach, lovely green areas, a kiosk and a really large jetty that shields a "lake pool" make for a lovely family day at the beach.

Sidsjön, Sundsvall

There's always something fun happening at Sidsjön! One of Sundsvall's most popular jogging trails runs around the lake and there are many popular jetties along it. For the youngest children, the beaches are great for swimming. One sandy beach is located below the slalom slope and the other quite directly opposite. The bathing water quickly becomes pleasant here!

Lilla Bandsjön, Timrå

Lilla Bandsjön is a cozy oasis for families with children. Jetty rings in the shallow water form a perfect area for the little ones. Further out there is plenty of space for wilder water adventures. In addition to the sandy beach, there are large green areas to sit down and admire the beautiful surroundings. There are also plenty of small fish and frogs to look at.

Backetjärn, Torpshammar

Backetjärn's sandy beach, diving tower, skating rink and jetties attract many bathers of all ages.
