Eldnäsets Flottningsmuseum & sommarcafé
- Eldnäsvägen, 841 93 Östavall, Sweden
The Eldnäs fleet museum displays old tools, black-and-white photos and a slide show that tells you about the life and liver of the fleets. There is also a forest shoe and a carbon.
The floating was an almost one hundred-year work period. Ljunga Elf’s fleet company started in 1869. The fleet then started until 1968. In the past, the fleet was the easiest option to transport timber to the large sawmills on the coast. At that time, roads were often in poor condition and the railroad had not yet reached its width. The rafting employed many workers and transported large amounts of timber along Ljungan. When the roads improved and the railroad came, the fleet ended in the river. It was more economical to transport the hour in other ways.
The museum is open in the summer and you can also buy coffee, coffee and attend various events in the beautiful environment.
