Mittnordenleden

Mittnordenleden is an 11-mile hiking trail that runs from Södra stadsberget in Sundsvall to Borgsjöbyn in Ånge. The trail also has a starting point at Sidsjön and initially follows Midskogsbäcken and connects to the main trail just east of Vintertjärn. Within Sundsvall municipality, the trail then goes via Prästhusberget and Långsjön to Matfors, on to Målstaallmänningen, across Stöde and up to Edebosjön.
The trail mainly offers forest walks along winding paths and gravel roads. Some shorter stretches go through farmland on asphalt roads. The gradient is noticeable, but not extreme. Along the trail there are a number of rest areas with bench tables, shelters, and at Skiftestjärn an open overnight cabin with some simple beds.
