Sundsvalls Teater

The Italian Renaissance in Rome and Florence has inspired architect Johan Fredrik Stenberg at the construction of the Sundsvalls Theatre in 1894. Although colors and decoration paintings have changed over the years, there is much conservation of the interior. It is not hard to experience the 19th century atmosphere inside the theatre. Windows, some doors and carpenters are preserved. The richly decorated salon has its orginal roof. The theatres from the late 19th century were made with large spaces for the audience in the form of stairwells, foyers, corridors and the like. Sundsvalls Theatre was inaugurated on September 29, 1894.
